About Tango in Buenos Aires: the shows and the milongas
Tango was born in the port neighbourhoods of Buenos Aires and Montevideo in the late 19th century, and UNESCO lists it as intangible cultural heritage of Argentina and Uruguay. Watch it at a dinner show such as El Querandí, Rojo Tango or Tango Porteño; dance it at a milonga such as El Beso, where classes for every level run every day. The city holds its own tango festival and world championship each year; dates are published on buenosaires.gob.ar.
Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Tango in Buenos Aires: the shows and the milongas before you go.
